While Michiru Yamane, the composer, said that there wouldn't be any guitar-driven tracks, as the instrument didn't fit in the 11th century, it's odd that much of the music is very much like orchestral techno. There's a good amount of classical sounding music, with a haunting choir in the background. Track 3, House of Sacred Remains, is one of the best tracks, and track 12, Lament of Innocence, can be best described as a dance sonata. Very cool stuff. The Limited Edition Sampler CD was given out in preorders, and includes music from Lament of Innocence, three arranged tracks from Aria of Sorrow, and a "best of" selection of tracks from Symphony of the Night. In Japan, a special CD was included with the limited edition package of the game, though it's a bit different. It also has tracks from Lament, Aria, and Symphony, although less of them - instead, at the end of the CD there's some arranged music called "Castlevania - Another Story", which has various bits of unused tracks from the game. There appears to be no full soundtrack release, although Elbryan of the Castlevania Treasury has recorded the entirety of the sound test. Unfortunately, the voice cannot be separated from the music, so some tracks couldn't be recorded. It's a pity - the prologue music is quite cool, and the cutscene with Mathias has a cool rendition of Leon's theme. Ah well. Definitely worth checking out is "Castlevania Reincarnation", the secret boss battle theme - it's a remix of "Dracula's Castle", the entrance theme from Symphony of the Night, and the final battle theme.
