The basic structure of the first level is pretty similar to the NES game - after
venturing through the forest courtyard, you'll enter the white hallways of the demon castle.
The second area has you going underground to fight fishmen (though you can take a detour upstairs to find some extra items) and then head into the basement to fight the Vampire Bat.) You will come to hate the panthers in this level, as they are much more prevalent than the NES version.

The red brick chapel is no longer red, and loses a bit of its cool. However, the second
section is almost exactly the same as the NES one, annoying Medusa heads and all.
Music: Stalker

If those damned panthers and Medusa heads irritated you - well, the hunchback men will
drive you insane. Most notable is that the bricks are a completely different color
than the NES game, and the whole level seems a bit less unique because of it.

Stage 4: Underground Caverns and Second Castle Entrance
|
This is probably the most straightforward level in the game. After navigating the rafts
and evading the fishmen, you'll head above ground and through the courtyard - which is actually a bit more detailed than the flat terrain in the NES game. You'll notice that the eagles dropping the hunchback looks more like roasted chickens. At the end, you'll
enter into the blue brick castle - if you're stuck here you have to do the "Pathway Warp",
as described in the manual (press up and down at the same time to go into the little gateways).
Music: Walking on the Edge

Stage 5: Dungeon and Laboratory
|
The most interesting part of this level is the laboratory - it looks much more interesting
than its NES counterpart.
Music: Heart of Fire
|
After you cross over the bridge guarded by giant vampire bats, you'll enter the
clock tower. For the most part, this is the same as the Castlevania 1 level.
Music: Out of Time

Stage 7: Dracula's Chamber
|
This is the one totally unique section to Vampire Killer. The steps lead into the tower,
which is decorated in the usual grey blocks. Through the final door leads Dracula's
chamber - he must have a rather large ego if there's a twenty foot painting of himself in
there.
